Orpheus/Orfeo

Orpheus/Orfeo is a performance piece that swirls the ancient Greek story of Orpheus and Eurydice with the lesser known Shetland ballad King Orfeo and the folk tale of the same name together. These two stories collide to create an exploration of grief, loss, death and dying. Over the course of an hour; storyteller Daniel Serridge, harper Neil Wood and guitarist/singer Heather Cartwright take audiences on an emotional journey through the folkloric and the mythical, bringing contemporary storytelling practices to ancient traditional tales, weaving traditional tunes with more contemporary singer songwriters to create a moving exploration of universal human experience.
